Through this scheme, financial assistance or financial assistance along with a house plot will be provided to the poor and homeless people in the state. What is the Indiramma Manaan Scheme?
The main purpose of the Indiramma Manaan Scheme is to provide assistance to the homeless and economically backward classes in the state of Telangana to build a permanent house. The beneficiaries will be benefited as follows.
1) Financial assistance: Those who have their own land will be provided with financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs for the construction of a house.
2) Land + Financial Assistance: Those who do not have their own land will be provided with a house plot and financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs.
3) Additional assistance for SC and ST: SC and ST beneficiaries will be provided with financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh plus an additional Rs. 1 lakh (total Rs. 6 lakh).
Financial assistance will be directly deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries at various stages of house construction. For example.. Rs. 1 lakh will be provided after the foundation is completed, Rs. 1.25 lakh after the construction of the walls, and Rs. 1.75 lakh at the time of slab construction.
The Revanth Reddy-led Congress government has set a target of constructing more than 4.5 lakh houses across the state. In the first phase, the government plans to construct 3500 houses in each assembly constituency. The Telangana government has allocated a budget of Rs. 22,000 crore for this scheme.
Who is eligible for the Indiramma Mananu Scheme?
The applicant should be a permanent resident of the state of Telangana.
Families living below the poverty line, or people from economically weaker sections are eligible.
Preference will be given to Dalits, tribals, minorities and other weaker sections.
The applicant or his family should not have their own pucca house.
Preference will be given to those living in huts and temporary houses.
The applicant should not have previously benefited under any government housing scheme (especially after 1995).
The beneficiary will be selected on the basis of ration card.
The annual income of the family should be less than Rs. 2 lakh.
Single women and widows can also apply for this scheme.

How to apply?
Those who have not applied under public administration.. can apply at special counters set up in MPDO and MRO offices. The state government has said that the Indiramma Manasu scheme will continue continuously and eligible persons can apply at any time. Public administration application forms can be obtained from Gram Panchayats or Ward offices or Mandal offices. These application forms should be carefully filled and submitted at the special counters set up in the MPDO and MRO offices along with the necessary documents.
Applications for the Indiramma House Scheme were received through the 'Praja Ghalan' program. Praja Ghalan applications were received across the state from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024. A total of 77.18 lakh people applied for houses. Of these, only 36.03 lakh (46.7 percent) were found eligible. The remaining 41.15 lakh (53.3 percent) were declared ineligible. Officials confirmed that all the ineligible people were above the poverty line (BPL).
The Telangana Housing Department has prepared the details of all applicants as L-1, L-2, and L-3 lists. Accordingly, the government has set a target of sanctioning 3,500 houses per constituency every financial year, with a maximum of 4.50 lakh houses across the state annually.
The details of the house applications were recorded in the Indiramma app. As per the guidelines embedded in the app, field level staff conducted surveys in all aspects. In addition, the details taken through the household survey conducted by the government were also examined and a list of beneficiaries was prepared. The applicants were divided into L-1, L-2, and L-3.

How is the selection made?
Indiramma Committees have been appointed to identify the beneficiaries. Indiramma Committees have played a major role in the selection of beneficiaries in villages. The government has issued guidelines to the officials regarding the selection of beneficiaries. It has warned that strict action will be taken if it is found that Indiramma House has been allotted to ineligible people. It has made it clear that the field level staff and officials will have to take responsibility. In this context, the officials are examining the eligible candidates in several phases.
