The state government has taken a key decision to benefit the farmers of Telangana. The state government is ready to implement the 'Farmer ID' project undertaken by the central government.
The government, which has already trained the Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs), will also start the registration process from May 5. Officials are hopeful that this scheme, which will be implemented in coordination with the central and state governments, will bring a digital revolution in the agricultural sector.
Under the central government's 'Farmer ID' project, every farmer will be allotted an 11-digit unique ID. The government will record their land type, cultivation, and personal details in digital form. It will be linked to the Aadhaar card. In this 11-digit ID, the farmer's name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, landowner passbook details, land type (red soil, black soil, rice, metta), survey numbers, cultivated crops, etc., will be recorded. With this ID card, farmers' details can be found with a single click.
There are many benefits through Farmer ID. This will be mandatory for schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi, Soil Health Card, and Fasal Bima Yojana being implemented by the Center. Under this project, details will be entered in a special app created by the Agriculture Department. After entering the details in the app, an OTP will be sent to the farmer's mobile. Once this OTP is entered in the app, an 11-digit Farmer ID will be generated. During natural disasters, if the ID number is entered, the farmer's cultivation details will be known. All services will be available with a single ID without paperwork.
Through this ID, the entire cultivation details of farmers can be found with a single click. However, the State Agriculture Department has clarified that this Farmer ID is not required for schemes like Rythu Bharosa and Rythu Bima implemented by the State Government.

What is Farmer ID?
Farmer ID is a digital identity card provided to farmers. It is linked to the Aadhaar card. This 11-digit ID contains the farmer's name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, landowner passbook details, land type (red soil, black soil, rice, metta), survey numbers, crops cultivated, etc. Through this ID, the farmer's entire cultivation details can be found with a single click. This will be mandatory for schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi, Soil Health Card, and Fasal Bima Yojana implemented by the center.
Without this ID, farmers will no longer get the benefits of these schemes. However, the state agriculture department has clarified that this farmer ID is not required for schemes like Rythu Bharosa and Rythu Bima implemented by the state government.
From May 5, AEOs across the state will start the process of collecting details from farmers. Farmers should contact the local AEO with their Aadhaar card, pattadar passbook, and mobile number. They should also provide land details and information about the crops cultivated. These details will be entered in a special app created by the agriculture department. After entering the details in the app, the farmer will receive an OTP on his mobile. Once this OTP is entered in the app, an 11-digit farmer ID will be generated.

The benefits of central schemes will be available quickly and transparently through Farmer ID. During natural disasters, if the ID number is entered, the farmer's cultivation details will be known.
