What is this scheme?
Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana scheme, a subsidy of up to 40 percent is provided for installing solar panels in houses. As part of this scheme, 12 public sector banks are offering attractive financing options, including unsecured loans of up to Rs. 2 lakh at a subsidized interest rate of 6.75 percent.

Who is eligible? :
The household installing solar panels must be an Indian citizen.
The family must have a house with a roof required to install solar panels.
The house must have a certified electricity connection.
The family must not have received any other subsidy like solar panels.
How to apply? :
Visit the official website (https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in/).
Go to the Consumer tab and select "Apply Now" (or) open the login dropdown menu and select "Consumer Login".
Log in and verify with your mobile number. Enter name, state, and other details.
Verify your email ID. Save your profile.
For Vendor, select Yes or No option as per your requirement.
Click on ‘Apply for Solar Rooftop’ and provide details like State, District DISCOM and other details.
The DISCOM will verify these details and approve the installation of solar panels.
After approval, select the vendor and provide bank details for subsidy.
